Welcome to The Denville Moms Network Young Entrepreneurs Spotlight Series

Colleen + Giuliana at our Banana Republic Event!
As the third installment of an important series, I am excited to introduce you to 12 year olds, Colleen McGavin and Giuliana Verdicchio, from Denville, New Jersey. They created Dibble Pool Game, a game to be played in the pool!
What is your name, how old are you and where are you from?
Our names are, Colleen McGavin and Giuliana Verdicchio. We both are 12 years old and we’re from Denville, New Jersey.
What is your business called and how long have you been established?
Our business is called Dibble Pool Game. Our business has been established for a little under a month.
What is your mission?
As two 12 year old girls, our mission is to have kids engage in less drama, less technology, and just get outside and play fun games like dibble.
What was a recent project you worked on? How did it come about?
The recent project we have been working on is our game we called Dibble. We started this project one day when Giuliana’s dad wouldn’t let us play the old version of dibble with a tiny water bottle cap. While we were sitting by the poolside, very bored, we thought of this idea. After that, we made all of our social media accounts and our website. From that day on we have been known for our dibble business.
Anyone special you would like to thank for helping you get this business started?
We would like to give a huge thank you to both of our moms, Nancy McGavin and Erica Verdicchio for their support. Without them we would have not been able to do this.
What are your future plans and goals for your business?
Our future plans and goals for our business are to get people of all ages, outside to play with our very fun game! Also that kids our age, will focus more on being kids and not being on their phones.
Do you have specific milestones/dates you can share with us (a new store that will have your product)?
One of our very special dates was, July 7th, 2019. This was so important to us because it was the day we made our Esty store! We got to me are so glad that we got to make this store, because it helps us out a lot!
What advice do you have for other young entrepreneurs?
Our advice for other young entrepreneurs is to always follow your dreams, no matter what. If you think you have a great idea, then follow up with it and keep working hard everyday. As a business owner you don’t have days off, but when your doing what you love its not work its fun 🙂
Favorite things to do outside of your business?
Our favorite thing to do outside of our business is do lots of sports such as, dance, soccer, badminton, and just to hangout. Currently we are taking 3 dance classes together, lyrical, tap, and ballet!
One thing people would be surprised to know about you?
One thing people would be surprised to know about us is that we are 12 and we created this business. Also, we have always been best friends.
