Welcome to The Denville Moms Network Meet A Mom Series
Meet Gayle Cooper of Pretty Little Social. Gayle and her twin sister Jean, are the creators of Pretty Little Social. Pretty Little Social is a specialty gifting studio offering pre-designed and custom gift boxes. For our pre-designed gift boxes, we carefully source the perfect items that will fit the theme of the box completely. Items that are aesthetically beautiful, whimsical and sometimes witty, but also practical in nature. Each gift box tells a story and fits exactly the recipient they are intended for. A gratifying experience for sure for both the gift giver and the gift recipient. They are ready to tackle any gifting dilemma you may have.
How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have two children. My daughter is 6 years old and my son is 4 years old.
How long have you lived in Denville? What made you decide to live here?
We have lived in Denville for 10 years now. We lived in our previous home for 8 years and are in our new home for 2 years. We decided to move to Denville because my 3 brothers and twin sister all had moved from Florham Park to Denville. It seemed like a very family oriented town and being close to family was also important. We love living in Denville.
What’s your favorite family activity?
We love participating in all of the activities the town provides for each holiday and season. We attend the parades, the downtown festivals, the summer carnival, visiting Santa in Santa Land at Christmas time and the Easter Bunny downtown in the Spring. Denville does a great job of offering activities the whole family can enjoy together.
Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in Denville?
As a family, we love going to Denville Dairy for ice cream and Sweet Expressions to browse the candy there. Sweet Expressions is like walking into Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Denville Dairy never disappoints! I personally like to browse the boutiques in town like Sisters and Surprises in Store. You never know what cute items you will stumble upon in those shops.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I come from a huge family (I am one of 6 kids). I have four older brothers and I’m a twin! We are the youngest of the pack. My twin and I are fraternal so either people don’t even think we are sisters or others can’t tell us apart! You never know. We both answer to each other’s names though when people do confuse us. I’m also the older twin by 6 minutes and I definitely act like her older sister most of the time. My immediate family is 26 people when we get together. Family events are crazy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My parents and my in-laws are always there for us whenever we need someone to watch our kids. My twin sister also helps whenever I’m in need. I have a big family and am very blessed to live close to them so we always help each other out when we need something.
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I work as an Executive Program Director planning medical conferences and educational events for physicians. I have been at the same medical education company for the past 14 years and love what I do. My job requires a high demand of multi-tasking, organization and being able to work under stressful situations at any given moment.
In an effort to ignite my creativity, which sometimes can’t be done in the corporate world, I decided to start my own company with my twin sister, Jean. We design gift boxes for weddings, everyday and corporate occasions. I handle the business side of the company along with curating items for the gift boxes. Jean handles the design portion of the business and executes each gift box to make sure they are perfect. We work great together as a team combining our strengths with one another. How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I have met many moms who give great advice and share their parenting stories and experiences. Sharing advice and experiences help us to navigate this crazy world of parenthood and reminds us that we aren’t alone. There are so many people you can reach out to if you ever have any questions and I think I am where I am today from learning from my experiences and from others and growing one day at a time.
