Having a little one can be tough to find things to do, what are your favorite things to do in the area?
Siena and I go to Gymboree in Pinebrook once a week. We have been since she was 6 months. It has really helped her develop phenomenal motor skills. We love bouncing around at Skyzone ! We are always checking out the farmers markets while they run. In Chatham they always have some type of musical act performing which is nice. Also a lot of bookstores like Short Stories in Madison have story-times for kids. The Morris County library has a great children’s area as well. Perfect for rainy days!
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Some people may not know I spent two seasons on a E! Network show with my family called, “Married to Jonas.” Then there are another set of people who may be surprised to know that I have a Masters Degree in Education. It depends upon how you got to know me first!
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I am so blessed to have so much family close by. My mother really supported me through the beginning stages of my postpartum depression. I spent days at her house with Siena. She is always there to help making it possible for me to continue with growing DishItGirl. My sister Danielle may be younger but she is two kids ahead of me. She has coached me through so many of the early stages of mom life. Also, my best friend Samantha and I were pregnant at the same time and had our babies a day a part. We have been able to share the ups and serious downs of being new moms. Checking on each other constantly and making sure we are “ok.”
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world?
I am the creator of DishItGirl.com. What started as a place to catalogue my recipes turned into a brand. I develop recipes for different brands and magazines. I have also been involved in food television doing food segments on numerous television outlets. I am currently teaching cooking classes at Healthy Italia in Madison, New Jersey. I will also be featured on the new talk show “The Dr and the Diva” on November 8th!

How has this online community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
I feel like I have grown with my online community. It is no longer just recipe creation and dinner ideas that I am sharing. But more ways to gather your family and friends to make memories. Furthermore, supporting each other as our lives develop and our families grow. The unique part of online communication is that it allows you to stay in touch with people over many years. We can use our journeys to inspire and encourage each other from miles away!
