In this week’s Meet-a-Mom we spoke with Tara Hudson owner of not only Denville’s Orangetheory Fitness but Parsippany and Rockaway locations as well. We are so lucky to feature such an amazing Mom and business owner. Read our interview to get a closer look at this mother of three and what drew her to being a franchise owner.

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in Morris County?
Grew up on Rockaway Beach in Queens, NY and moved to Cranford NJ 10 years ago and then to Denville in June, 2018
Favorite things to do with your kids?
We are always on the go with sports, but some of our favorite family activities are grabbing breakfast from Church Street Bagels before our busy days, hiking in the Tourne, and of course, ice cream from Denville Dairy!
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I was 60lbs overweight after having my 3 children in 4 years and was experiencing Post Partum Depression. Joining Orangetheory as a member saved me mentally and physically.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My supportive husband, Eric who encouraged me to go take my first class at the local Orangetheory that was near our house because he knew how unhappy I was physically and mentally. If I couldn’t show up for myself, I couldn’t show up for my kids and being a good mom was my first priority. I fell so in love with the amazing community and saw the results of the workout and instantly knew what I wanted to be when I grow up – an Orangetheory Fitness Owner! And I did everything in my power to make that happen!
Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I was in financial technology sales for over 13 years prior to Opening Orangetheory Fitness Denville in 2017. We experienced such support and success in Denville that I was able to leave my job in corporate America and focus solely on Orangetheory and my children. We then opened Orangetheory Fitness Rockaway in 2018, and Orangetheory Fitness Parsippany in 2019 and are working towards opening Orangetheory Fitness Roxbury in 2022!
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
The Denville community welcomed me professionally and personally with open arms. It was scary moving to a new town with 3 young kids and opening a new business most people had never heard of. Denville truly is an amazing town and I feel so grateful and blessed to be a part of this community.
